Boardin', Beer and Bruises

So last week saw 7 of us (me, T, Ray, Simon, Paul, Andy and Jess) on the slopes in The Three Valleys. The Chalet was in Courchevel 1550 and was the perfect traditional chalet, catered for just us few. Comfy surroundings, real fire, top fodder and beer...what more could ya want! Four of us were snowboarders and the others skiiers (Ray’s first time).

Courchevel has some amazing runs. Spent most of the time there, with 2.5 days in Meribel. The holiday started off disasterous on the first day, however, with Ray having her front teeth shattered on the first chairlift and needing emergency dental reconstruction! OUCH! It wasn’t my fault, honest!

The runs around 1850 are quite varied. A good selection of greens, blues and reds. Those down to La Tania are some of the best, IMO, and the most scenic through the trees. Meribel had some more intermediate and advanced runs which kept a damn fast pace up. Hitting the moguls made it even more frantic! Had a couple of sharp landings but came away unscathed.

Most ended up doing a full 09:00 to 17:00 stint so were well shattered at night. We managed a few nights out though to sample the local “old lager”.

Well I won’t waffle on and on about it, but just to say it was a fantastic holiday and an amazing resort! Bring on the next one!!
